» tumbili
Tumbili, an imaginary savannah laden with primates of all species. Lions and crocodiles are a danger to all. Scavengers like hyaenas and vultures are constantly skulking around whilst snakes and lizards scamper around the rocks. A day in Tumbili is never a quiet day. Birds and insects keep an incessant buzz through the lands and howler monkeys can be heard from in the distant jungles. Termite mounds are dotted around like towers looking across the plain. Meerkats and mole rats sneak around each dune in search of food and safety, away from the eyes of preying birds above.
The primates of Tumbili have formed three troops. A troop is a group of primates. In Tumbili the three troops are: Oasis, Shrub and Sandy troops. Even different species have formed alliance and knitted together very tightly. They help eachother in time of trouble and share food in times of famine. They have become a family. You can become a member of one of those families. Which troop will you join and fend for?

The MOTM will be judged on activeness of a member, helpfullness of a member, roleplaying skills and other similar points. There will not be a MOTM until there are a handful of members who have done enough to be judged on.

» disclaimers/copyright
Please do not copy anything from tumbili. It took a lot of time and effort to think up and bring to life. It is the only primate RP i have seen so it will be obvious if another one suddenly appears. Images are all (c) to their original owners however all images are manip by me (Azizi). Posts are all (c) to their original writers and so are bios. I know bios can be difficult to create so please don't steal any ideas or you will be punished by me and my spies. Thanks :)

OOC
» Respect. Respect everyone. Guests have a right to be treated well too, they are potential members.
» Messaging. Don't abuse this feature. It isn't for fighting. If you feel as though another member is being disrespectful towards you tell a staffie.
» Cbox. No spamming. Do no send pointless messages like ^^ or :^) etc. No name-calling, impersonating or advertising. I can block your ip.
» Language. I will not tolerate swearing, seriously try it. Please don't use chatspeak apart from in the cbox.

Characters
» Limits. Each member may have a maximum of 3 characters.
» Perfection. To start with - there is no such thing, especially in monkeys!
» Age.

Roleplaying
» Godmodding/powerplaying. Don't do it!
» Limit. You must write at least 100 words. It isn't difficult. If you can't do it you aren't right for this site.
» OOC notes. Try not to do this. If it is totally needed put it at the beginning of a post.
» Spellcheck. Its there for a reason and I expect you to use it.

Signitures/avatars
» Avatars. They must be 100x100 or 75x75.
» Signitures. They must be no bigger than 500x300.
» Picture limits. You are limited to one picture.
» Multiple characters. If you have more than one characters you may have a picture linking to another picture showing all your characters.
» Text. If you have no picture in your sig you can have 15 lines of text. If you have a picture you can have 5 lines.

IC fighting
» Fights. Fights may occur if:

  • two members of a troop are fighting for dominance.
  • two members of different troops fight in a neutral area or the jungle.
  • two males are fighting over a female.
  • two outsiders fight for territory.

» Winning. In fights, I or a different staff member will judge the two fighters on different criteria. These criteria are:

Quote:

Age of character: (#/3)
Posting length: (#/3)
Posting quality:(#/3)

This form must be put in the post just before the fight starts. It should be placed there by the first competitor and a staff member will fill it in ASAP.
» Consequences. If the fight was for dominance and the challenger won, the leader must leave the troop and become an outsider. If the fight was for a mate and the challenger won, the other character must leave the female alone. If the fight was between two troops and the challenger won, the other character must leave the area. If the fight is between two outsider and the fight is for territory and the challenger won, the other monkey must give up the territory.
» Losers. Loser's may one day try and regain territory or dominance. They must wait one moon before they fight again.

Breeding/births
» Breeding. No long or graphic breeding.
» Cross breeding. This can happen and is allowed.
» Birthing. No long or graphic birthing.
» Breeding permission. To breed your character and their mate must make a new thread in the "Breeding" board. The first poster must fill out the provided form and the mate must reply to show their approval. A staff member will look at troop stats and character activeness and decide whether breeding will be allowed to happen. If it is the original poster must make a thread in the "New Borns" board.
» New borns. After breeding has been approved by a staffie a thread must be made in the "New Borns" board to request stats for the new borns. A staff member will choose gender, colour at random.

New borns
» Stats. Stats of the new babies will be chosen at random. The stats determined by a staffie are:

  • Number of babies (probably 2)
  • Gender
  • Basic colouring

» Adoption. New borns may be put up in the adoption board one moon after birth. The first moon of their life must be spent with the mother. The mother may RP the babies.
Password: baboon

Time scale
» Moons. 1 moon = 1 month. 1 circle = 1 year.
» Aging. In tumbili monkeys' ages are measured in moons and circles. They may not be over 15 circles. At this age the character must be killed off, sorry :'(
» Killing off. This can happen through a fight or special event. It must not be graphic.

Special events
» Natural disasters. These include thunderstorms, whirlwinds, earthquakes, treesfalling. Thunderstorms are very likely to happen during the dry season.
» Tumbili disasters. These include droughts, famines, disease. They can happen any time and are usually spread throughout the whole of tumbali. If one of these happens it will be placed in an announcement.
» Troop crisis'. This might be the death of a leader or a troop fight. In this case the troop will all be PMed and told what has happened and what the consequence is.
